Luke Menard fever continues to spread through Crawfordsville.

Menard has forged his way into the final eight men on “American Idol,” and local residents want to make sure he goes even farther.

A group of local citizens is gathering donations for a banner that will encourage the community to vote for Menard after he performs on Tuesday night, a release from Crawfordsville Mayor Charlie Coons said. Coons gave the go-ahead for workers from Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power to hang the banner over Main Street.

“Mayor Coons would like to encourage all citizens to support Crawfordsville’s very own Luke Menard on his journey,” the release said.
