Crawfordsville boys soccer coach Jim Kochert has stressed to his team all season the importance of crashing the goal and finishing shots.

Austin Evans and Brandon Largent proved to be good listeners. Evans scored two goals off rebound shots and Largent scored another, leading the Athenians to a 4-0 victory over North Montgomery in the opening round of sectionals Thursday at Crawfordsville.

The victory allows Crawfordsville (11-5-1) the opportunity to play for its third straight sectional title. The Athenians take on Southmont noon Saturday at Crawfordsville. North finished its season 4-11-2.
