VEEDERSBURG — Pat Culp is just one of the new guys in the league.

The Fountain Central head boys basketball coach joins Riverton Parke’s Mont Kirk and Seeger’s Greg Dean as the new kids in the Wabash River Conference this season on the varsity level.

But the Mustangs aren’t a new team to Culp, who was the junior varsity coach for six prior seasons.
The new head coach is stressing hard work in the first two weeks of practice.

“They’re catching on pretty quick. We are pushing them hard,” he said. “We stress to compete for two hours of practice. We started two-a-days competing for 45 minutes. Now we are pushing to compete for two hours strong.

“The kids are buying into that.”
