DARLINGTON — A two-motorcycle, one-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday afternoon near Darlington claimed the life of one victim and injured another.
The accident happened near the intersection of S.R. 32 and C.R. 775 just before 1 p.m. One of the motorcyclists, Jeremy E. Newnum, 34, of Kingman was pronounced dead at the scene by Montgomery County Coroner Dave Hunt, a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
The other motorcyclist, Tommy E. Doan, 35, of Rockville was airlifted from the crash site and transported to an Indianapolis hospital. The driver of the SUV involved in the accident, Tammy L. Steineman, 38, of Colfax, was not injured.
A crash reconstructionist from the Brownsburg Police Department was called to assist in the investigation and S.R. 32 was closed for approximately three hours. The crash is still under investigation and toxicology results are pending.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Brownsburg Police Department, Indiana State Police, Darlington Fire Department, S.T.A.R. Ambulance and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
