Looking for love ... the same methods don’t work for everyone.
Some people enjoy meeting prospective partners at clubs. Others prefer online matchmaking.
For those who love literature and are looking for someone who shares that passion, the Crawfordsville District Public Library is offering a special Valentine’s Day event.
“Cupid’s Arrow at the Library” will be a literary speed dating night. Participants must be 21 or older.
“This is the first for us and we hope it is very laid back and fun, not intimidating or stressful,” said CDPL program coordinator Katy Myers. “I just hear so many people who are single complain that they don’t have anything to do on Valentine’s Day and that they hate the day.”
Attendees should bring their favorite books to the event.
“My son, who is 35, said that if he were to come he would bring ‘Gerald McBoing Boing the Noise Making Boy’ — his favorite story from childhood,” Myers said. “This would be fine ... anything to break the ice.”
Men at the event will meet for four minutes with each woman before moving to the next one, and the women will stay put.
Water and chocolates will be provided.
Deadline to sign up for Cupid’s Arrow at the Library is Monday. Call 362-2242, ext. 109, to register or for more information. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will take place in Meeting Room B.
