Standoff

At approximately 4 p.m. Friday law enforcement officers arrived at 4299 W. C.R. 700S in Montgomery County to attempt to place Devin Ewoldt under arrest. Ewoldt surrendered to police around 6 p.m. Friday.

 

A two-hour standoff between police and a man wanted on three active warrants from Boone and Montgomery counties ended peacefully Friday.

According to a press release issued by the Indiana State Police, members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, ISP Lafayette Post, U.S. Marshals and Indiana State Police Central Emergency Response Team arrested Devin Ewoldt, 33, of Bunker Hill at 6 p.m. Ewoldt was on Montgomery County’s most wanted list.

Trooper David Millburg advised that at approximately 4 p.m. officers arrived at 4299 W. C.R. 700S in Montgomery County to attempt to place Ewoldt into custody. Ewoldt ran into the house and would not exit the residence. Contact by phone was attempted but at first was not successful. After approximately two hours, Ewoldt came out of the residence and surrendered to officers on scene. 

Ewoldt was placed under arrest and was read the warrants and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. The two warrants out of Montgomery County are for habitual traffic violator and possession of methamphetamines. The Boone County warrant is for armed robbery and intimidation with a weapon.

No further information is being released at this time.
