Firefighter-paramedic Darren Forman continues to receive praise for his work and dedication with the Crawfordsville Fire Department.
On June 4, Forman was awarded the 23rd annual Child Safety Advocate Award from the Automotive Safety Program of the Indiana University School of Medicine. This award recognizes outstanding dedication in forwarding the issues of child safety.
Forman has been a car seat technician for 14 years, since Mayor Todd Barton saw a need for child safety specialists during his time as fire chief. Forman spearheaded the car seat safety program for CFD, has organized an innovative program called Booster Bash, and continues to practice as a car seat technician through Community Paramedicine initiative Project Swaddle.
