Stringtown has live nativity scene

The Stringtown Church of God will present a live nativity scene 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visitors may drive through or walk through the nativity scene, soup, sandwiches and cookies will be served inside the church.

Gathered by Him to perform

Gathered by Him, a vocal ensemble consisting of eight adults from First Baptist Church, will perform at Freedom Baptist Church during the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday. The group is under the direction of Linda Wilson.

Candlelight Christmas Tour

The Perrysville United Methodist Ladies Group will sponsor a Christmas Candlelight Tour 5-8 p.m. Sunday. The walk begins at the Perrysville United Methodist Church on the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets. Three Perrysville families will open their homes for the public to view.

Tickets may be purchased for $10 at the Perrysville United Methodist Church and must be presented at each home visited. Proceeds will go to mission projects of the ladies group.

St. Nicholas to visit Crossroads Church

Saint Nicholas will be at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Pictures with Saint Nicholas are $5.

Christmas Choir to perform

The Community Christmas Choir will present this year’s show Saturday and Sunday at the Russellville Community Center. The show will begin with dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday and the show at  7 p.m. On Sunday, the meal begins at noon and the show starts at

1:30 p.m.

A free nursery and child care services will be provided. A free will offering will be accepted for the meal. Non-perishable food items also will be collected for the Montgomery and Putnam County food banks. Christmas bake sale items will be available for purchase to benefit the 2012 choir.

Live nativity scene in Hillsboro

Hillsboro United Methodist Church will have a live nativity 5:30-7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the church, 107 E. Market St., Hillsboro. Visitors may drive through or walk through the nativity scene. Free soup and sandwiches will be served inside the church. Everyone is welcome.

Browns Valley Church plans nativity

The Browns Valley Christian Church will have its annual live Christmas nativity scene 6-8 p.m. Dec. 12-13 at the church. The church is at 9011 South S.R. 47.

Children’s party, soup supper slated

Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church will have a Saint Nicholas and Saint Lucia Children’s Party and Supper to benefit the Hagar Raphael Orphanage in Guatemala on Dec. 10.

The party will begin at 4 p.m. with a visit from

St. Lucia and St. Nicholas. The children will be able to visit a Christmas store where they can buy inexpensive items to give to family and friends.

A soup supper will begin at 5 p.m. to benefit the orphanage. A donation will be accepted for the meal. Great Vespers will begin at 6 p.m.

Waynetown luminary walk set

The combined Waynetown Church communities will present its traditional Luminary Walk at 6 p.m.

Dec. 11.

This year the walk begins at the Methodist church and proceeds to the First Baptist Church, and ends at the First Christian Church. Each church will present a short Christmas program.

Everyone is invited to walk, to follow in their cars, or to sit in the churches and wait for the walkers.  Refreshments will be served at the end of the walk.
