Trey Barton, a Crawfordsville native, recently completed his internship with the office of Congressman Jim Baird, R-Greencastle. He is a rising senior at Wabash College pursuing degrees in political science and philosophy.

Over the last few months, Barton has interned in Baird’s Danville district office, where he assisted with casework, helped coordinate events, and listened to community members on behalf of Baird.

“Trey showed a knack for quickly learning new responsibilities and he clearly is a personable young man who did a tremendous job communicating with constituents,” Baird said. “We were pleased to have such talented and capable individuals working in our office, and we wish them the very best in their future endeavors.”

Barton has become increasingly interested in community outreach and connecting with communities to enhance his understanding of the issues most important to them.

Outside of school, Trey enjoys relaxing with family and friends. He plans to write and conduct research for his senior capstone paper.
