Robert and Nancy Day of Crawfordsville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Lake Holiday Club House on Sept. 14. 

Robert and Nancy were born and raised in Montgomery County and married Sept. 11, 1954, at Mt. Zion Church in Crawfordsville. Robert graduated from New Ross High School class of 1953. Nancy Demoret graduated from Dover High School class of 1953 and later worked at Indiana Bell as an operator. Robert owned the pallet/saw mill in New Ross after his high school years until the mid 70’s. He also worked at RR Donnelley in the shipping dept from 1960-1965. They also owned the Trampoline Center on U.S. 136.

In 1976, Robert and Nancy opened the Potpourri Art studio at Green and Main streets in Crawfordsville, where Nancy taught art classes and sold artwork. Nancy’s paintings have been featured and sold all over the world. Robert taught stain glass classes and made several stain glass windows for churches and private individuals. Later he worked as a job superintendent for Akers Construction and then continued in the same capacity at Day Construction Management. 

Robert and Nancy have four children Darrell Day, Jeanne Day, Cheryl Day Anderson and Darren Day.
