James Addison “Jamie” York, 48, of Veedersburg passed away at 5:50 a.m. Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

Jamie was born May 17, 1970 in Danville, Illinois the son of James F. “Jim” and Kathryn M. “Kate” (Keeling) York. He married Jackie Oaks on April 12, 1997, at Veedersburg.

Surviving family include: his wife, Jackie York, Veedersburg; two sons, Dylan James York (fiancé Taylar Hanson) and Matthew James York, both of Veedersburg; niece Breyanna Spencer; two nephews, Steven Spencer and Zachary Oaks; great-nephew Kolten Spencer; and two great-nieces, Kylee Spencer and Braelyn Lee.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and sister Melissa Kay York.

Jamie graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1988 and from Indiana State University in Terre Haute 1992. He loved to be outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending sporting events, whether it be professional sports, college or local high school sporting events, especially the games where his sons were playing. He enjoyed dirt track stock car racing, woodworking and he enjoyed talking and visiting with people. He was president of the Bonebrake Cemetery Board and had been employed for many years at Thyssen Krupp Presta in Danville, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Pastor Ryan Sowers officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg.
