Mary Linda Therber, 78, of Indianapolis departed this life Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018.
She was born June 30, 1940, at Indianapolis, to the late Maurice L. “Scotty” and Mary Lee (McFarland) Fogarty.
Linda was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy and attended Marian College.
She was a kind and gentle soul who always put others’ needs before her own. Linda was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and when sharing her many gifts through volunteering. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and formerly a long-time member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Crawfordsville. She was a caregiver for St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis and a volunteer for several organizations in Crawfordsville while a resident there.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Lonnie Therber; her devoted sons, Joe (Angie) Therber, Jeff (Jenny) Therber, Andy (Kathy) Therber and Mike (Alison) Therber; her dear brothers, Michael Fogarty, Terry Fogarty, Thomas (Paula) Fogarty and Patrick (Martha) Fogarty; 11 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters, as well as a host of loving nephews and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her infant sister, Kathleen Ann Fogarty, and grandson Christopher Therber.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment follows at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Linda’s family is most grateful to the St. Vincent Health medical staff for their compassionate and professional care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, the American Diabetes Association and the Montgomery County Free Clinic in Crawfordsville.
