Howard Earl Hutson, 69, of Crawfordsville passed away at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, in Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

He was born Aug. 1, 1947, at Bloomingdale, to Harry Edward and Helen Louise (Myers) Hutson. He married Linda Sue Beck in Crawfordsville on Oct. 17, 1970. She preceded him in death Jan. 29th, 2014.

Earl retired in 2006 after 33 years with Inland Container and for many years was a barber, working at the Swinford Barber Shop. He was a 1965 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a graduate of the Indiana Barber College in Indianapolis.  He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran; drove for the Sunshine Van; and in his free time, enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards.

Earl is survived by his mother of Crawfordsville; his children, Benjamin (Alexandra) Hutson, Ladoga, Misty (Jason) Mennen, Crawfordsville, and Johnna (Billy) Williams, Crawfordsville; brothers, Harold “Sonny” (Laura) Hutson, Crawfordsville, and Roger (Sandra) Hutson, Crawfordsville; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father; and brother Gerald Hutson.

Cremation was chosen with a viewing and visitation

4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. A family committal service will be held at Oak Hill South Cemetery at a later date.
