Juanita Irene (Irvin) Deck-Campbell, 76, of Clermont, Indiana, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
She was born Dec. 21, 1942, at Hyannis, Massachusetts, the daughter of Leon and Grace (Holt) Irvin.
She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1960 at the top of her class while being first chair in the band.
She married Roger Deck in January 1961. They had two sons, Daryl and Jeff. In 1993, she married Gary Campbell. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 2012.
She was a member of the Indiana Bell Pioneers and Eastern Star. She retired after 35 years of service from Indiana Bell/AT&T. While working at the phone company she obtained her degree in accounting from IUPUI. After retirement she owned and operated J&S Auto Sales in Brownsburg and Nita’s Place Bar and Grill in Danville, Indiana. She also worked for H&R Block for over 25 years. She is survived by her mother, Grace Irvin, Crawfordsville; sons, Daryl Deck, Phoenix, Arizona, and Jeff (Lisa) Deck, Greensburg; brother Jack (Susie) Irvin, Wingate; sister Sherry (Bob) Longfellow, Hoopeston, Illinois; grandchildren, Baron (Anna) Deck and Keri (Andrew) Mauer, Greensburg; great-grandchildren, Otto Deck and Addilyn Mauer; nephews, Todd (Anissa) Longfellow, Ty (Lindsey) Longfellow and Troy (Beth) Irvin; and niece Aissa (Ryan) Good.
Prayer service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Visitation will follow ceremony until 6 p.m. A private burial will take place at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown at a later date.
