DURANGO, Mexico (AP) -- Gabriel Gutierrez doubled and singled as the Toros de Tijuana beat the Generales de Durango 6-2 on Sunday.
Tijuana went up 5-0 in the second after Fernando Perez hit a two-run single as part of a four-run inning.
After Durango scored a run in the third on a double by Daniel Mayora, the Generales cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Santiago Gonzalez hit a solo home run.
The Toros tacked on another run in the fifth when Ricky Alvarez hit an RBI single, bringing home Jesus Valdez.
Tijuana right-hander Manny Barreda (1-1) picked up the win after allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings. Opposing starter Carlos Teller (0-2) took the loss in the Mexican League game after allowing five runs and four hits over 1 1/3 innings.
With the win, Tijuana improved to 4-2 against Durango this season.
