AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico (AP) -- Victor Mendoza hit three home runs and drove in five runs, as the Sultanes de Monterrey defeated the Rieleros de Aguascalientes 18-7 on Sunday.

Mendoza hit a solo shot in the fourth, a solo shot in the eighth and a three-run shot in the eighth. Felix Perez homered twice, driving in three runs and scoring a pair in the win.

Monterrey right-hander Edgar Gonzalez (2-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Nestor Molina (1-1) took the loss in the Mexican League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Jose Vargas hit a pair of solo homers for the Rieleros.
