Mountie track and field athletes compete at USATF
Trent Jones win with a time of 22.95 in the 15-16-year old boys 200 meter dash highlighted a pack of Mountie track and field athletes that competed at the USATF Indiana Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Ball State University of the weekend. Faith Allen was also victorious in her girls 15-16-year old 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:47.77. Thomas Richardson won the placed fifth in the 17-18-year old men’s 2,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 7:05.41.
In the women’s 17-18-year old 400 meter hurdles Shannon Isenberg was fourth in 1:13.37, while Lexie Odum placed eighth in the women’s 17-18-year old 200 meter dash with a time of 27.61.
Athenians to host soccer camp
Crawfordsville soccer will host a youth soccer camp in July. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades K-8 on July 23-25.
Kids K-5 will go from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., while kids from 6th-8th grade will go from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. The cost is $30 for individual and $25 per each family member after that. The camp will entail proper shooting technique, proper passing technique, defending, and receiving the ball. Chargers plan for girls soccer camp
North Montgomery will host a youth girls soccer camp from June 24-26 from 9-11 a.m. at the North Montgomery High School soccer fields.
Cost is $25 per camper with family discounts available. The camp is available to all girls that just finished graders kindergarten through fifth grade. Deadline to register is June 13. Registration will continue to be open until the first day of camp, but there will be no T-shirt.
