Martin Lee Kelsey, 69, of Crawfordsville went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Martin was born June 21, 1954, at Crawfordsville, to Clyde Thomas and Eulala (Perkins) Kelsey.

He graduated from Southmont High School in 1974 and married his high school sweetheart that summer.

Martin is survived by wife Rebecca “Becky” Diane (Hall) Kelsey; son Phillip (Breanne) Kelsey; daughter Michelle (Steven) Hubbard; brother Dave (Susie) Kelsey; twin brother Marvin (Nettie) Kelsey; sisters, Julie “Patty” (Billy) Miethe and Diane Kelsey; and 10 beautiful grandchildren, Kolsey, Abigail, Kolten, Koda, Ethan, Kolissa, Lillian, Kora, Elaina and Leigha.

He was preceded in death by parents Clyde Thomas and Frances Eulala (Perkins) Kelsey; and brother Thomas Kelsey.

Martin worked at RR Donnelly for 45 years until he retired. Martin was a steadfast Christian and attended First Assembly in Crawfordsville his entire adult life. He was an ornery, teasing jokester who was rarely serious, but was always there when you needed him and loved by all. There were always smiles and laughter when he was around, and he was an avid storyteller. In his free time, he loved hiking, camping and learning about history.

To Martin, family was his world. He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, father and papa. His grandkids were the highlight of his days, and he loved them more than life itself. You would rarely have a conversation with him where it didn’t include a story of one of his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by not only his family but by all who knew him.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at First Assembly Church, 2070 Lebanon Road, Crawfordsville, with Rich Fuller officiating. Visitation will be from noon to
2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
