Mary Jo Overpeck, 83, of Wolcottville died Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at her home.
She was born Jan. 31, 1936, at Romney, to Orley and May (Harlan) Winger. On Nov. 23, 1955, she married John A. Overpeck in Rochester. He died Sept. 3, 2015.
Survivors include: two daughters, Becky (Kent) Bontreger, Middlebury, and Liz (Jim) Stump, Wolcottville; son Mike (Tara) Overpeck, Goshen; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother Dorman Winger, Crawfordsville.
Mary Jo was a 1954 graduate of Alamo High School, where she was valedictorian. She worked as the Deputy City Clerk for Topeka before retiring in 2008. She volunteered at the LaGrange Hospital and was also active in the LaGrange County Council on Aging.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Her son, Pastor Mike Overpeck will officiate. A public graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the LaGrange County Council on Aging.
