Nancy Alice (Demoret) Day, 85, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 10, 1935, in Montgomery County, to the late George and Mary (Thomas) Demoret.
Nancy graduated from Dover High School in 1953 and married the love of her life, Bob Day, on Sept. 11, 1954, at Mt. Zion Church, Crawfordsville. Nancy started out working as a phone operator for Indiana Bell; then she and Bob owned the Trampoline Center on U.S. 136, then in 1976, they opened the Potpourri Art studio at Green and Main streets, Crawfordsville, where Nancy taught art classes and sold artwork. Nancy’s paintings and her art students have been featured all over the world. She loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bob Day of Crawfordsville; four children, Darrell (Tammy Nichols) Day of Fishers, Jeanne Day of Mace, Cheryl (Tom) Day Anderson of Indianapolis; and Darren (Molly) Day of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren, Bridget (Denny Smith) Wilbur, Travis (Sheryl) Wilbur, Kelly Day, Derrek (Megan) Day, Abby Day, Megan Day, Danielle Day; great grandchildren, Dominic, Sammi, Tiffany, Levi, Trey and Sully; great-great children, Aaron, Nathaniel, Ashton and Braxton; aunt Sharon (Layton) Sparks; and nieces and nephews, Will, Mark, Karen and Debbie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dan Demoret and Tommy Demoret; sister Jean Eakle; and sister-in-law Jo Brugge.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Friday, March 5, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Ivan Brown officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on her obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
