Robert “Bob” C. Stoddard of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully to join his wife in heaven on Dec. 19, 2019.

He was born July 18, 1929, at Terre Haute to Charles Arthur and Bertha A. Stoddard.

He is survived by daughters, Sandy (Rick) Dossett, Judy (Walter) Redmon and Kim (Mike) Perkins; son Charles (Debi) Stoddard; and step-daughter Sherry (Bret) Smith Priebe. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sarah (Shaun) Stoddard, Jason (Brandy) Redmon, Jamie (Chris) Wimberly, Jennifer (Zach) Smock, R.J. Mason, Jessica (Tyler) Greene and Chase R. Stoddard; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He grew up in the Indianapolis-Noblesville area attending high school and ROTC. He worked supporting his family at a very early age working at Conner Prairie Farm. He also resided in Darlington, and then Crawfordsville. While in Crawfordsville, he was employed at Galaway’s, Clements-Rocher by cleaning out houses, for Raybestos-Manhatten for 35 years (Gear Shaper) and ran a family landscaping business. He was known for helping so many others, putting everyone else’s need before his. He made trips to Riley Hospital to deliver stuffed animals collected to lift their spirits. He regularly attended the First United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Carol) Stoddard in August; his sisters, Virginia (Bob) Hasler and Janet (Miles) Beville; his sister-in-law Leah (Keith) Switzer; daughter Terry Stoddard; grandchild Christopher Stoddard; and sons-in-law, Walter Redmon Jr. and Rick Dossett.

Burial will be at a later date.
