William Paul Hasse, 70, passed away Oct. 17, 2026, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born March 28, 1956, to the late Fritz and Mary (Klee) Hasse in Chicago, Illinois.
William’s personal and professional interests revolved around the car world. He worked as an automotive machinist for many years, including a 20-year career at Opel Engineering, where he built high-performance race motors. He was an avid fan of stock car and drag racing, and frequented the local drag strips, including Byron, Oswego, and Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Shortly after entering retirement, he moved from Illinois to Crawfordsville and found great enjoyment in the more pastoral region. He will be endlessly missed by his son, Torin, and his extended close friends and family.
Cremation was chosen with no services at this time.
