12-6 Roundup: Charger swimming sweeps in the pool, Athenians split with Tigers

Chargers notch sweep of Bison

North Montgomery swimming and diving was back in action and in the pool on Tuesday as the Chargers made the lengthy trip to Benton Central for a dual meet with the Bison. Overall it was a very successful meet for the visiting Chargers as they swept the Bison in the pool. The girls picked up a 122-52 win while the boys were victorious 92.5-50.5.

The girls record improves to 5-1 on the season while the boys improve to 1-2. North Montgomery returns to the pool on Thursday for a home Sagamore Conference meet with Tri-West.

Athenians split with SAC foe Lebanon

Crawfordsville was on the road Tuesday making the trip to Lebanon for a Sagamore Conference showdown with the Tigers. CHS ended up splitting the meet with Lebanon as the girls came away with a 106-75 win and the boys fell by a final score of 110-75. The Lady Athenians improve to 4-0 on the season while the boys suffer their first loss and are now 3-1.

Both CHS teams will return home on Thursday when they welcome Harrison.

Girls Basketball

Chargers fall to SAC rival Bruins

Hitting the road on Tuesday for a Sagamore Conference showdown North Montgomery girls basketball took on Tri-West and the high-powered Bruins. The Charger offense continued to make strides but the Bruins still came away with a 68-40 win.

Sophomore Piper Ramey led all scorers in the loss with a season-high 26 points. The Bruins had three in double figures led by Regan Canada’s 21. Lauren Bear added 19 and Zoie Bruner scored 10 for Tri-West.

North falls to 2-9 on the season (1-1 SAC) with the loss while the Bruins improve to 3-7 (3-2 SAC). North Montgomery will have a week off before returning to the court next Tuesday when they travel to West Lafayette.
