Two Lafayette men are in custody at the Montgomery County Jail following an armed robbery at the Linden Marathon gas station Saturday night.

Roy A. Cook, 27, is facing preliminary charges of robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and intimidation, and Nicholas C. O’Conner, also 27, is facing preliminary charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

According to a press release issued Sunday morning by Montgomery County Sheriff Ryan Needham, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 7:12 p.m. Saturday to the gas station at 732 N. Main St. in Linden in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The caller reported a male walked into the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money from the cash register. After the suspect received an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the store.

As deputies responded to the scene, area law enforcement agencies were notified of the robbery. The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Indiana State Police, located a vehicle matching the description of the one given at the time of the robbery and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle who were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Both men remain in custody at the Montgomery County Jail.

The investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing. If anyone witnessed the event or has any information regarding the robbery, contact Detective Aaron French at 765-362-3740, ext. 220.
