Athenians earn SAC runner-up
Crawfordsville boys tennis wrapped up Sagamore Conference play at Frankfort on Thursday and came away with a 5-0 win over the Hot Dogs. The win secured second place in the conference as the Athenians ended with a 5-1 record.
James Murphy defeated Edwin Winecott 6-0, 6-0 at one singles, Wyatt Motz took care of Kelby Santos 6-0, 6-0 at two singles, and Rowan Gambrel defeated Alex Farley 6-0, 6-0 at three singles.
Jude Coursey and Jude Hutchison took care of their opponent 6-3, 6-4 at one doubles while Thomas Bowling and Henry Bannon came back for a three set win at two doubles over Isai Jimenez and Sam McAtee 6-7, 6-0, 10-7.
The Athenians have one final match before concluding the regular season on Monday when CHS travels to take on Terre Haute South.
Mustangs sweep Tiger Cubs on senior night
Fountain Central honored its four seniors on Thursday when the Mustangs hosted Greencastle. FC came away with a 5-0 win with Gabe McCollum defeating Jay Glotzbach 6-1, 6-1 at one singles, Skyler Hoagland took care of Griffin Beasley 6-0, 6-0 at two singles, and Ayden Batchelor defeated Caleb Crowder at three singles 6-0, 6-0.
The senior duo of Noah Armstrong and Koby Wolf defeated Joel Hammond and Paul Lewis 6-1, 6-2. Rounding out the four seniors for FC , both Wes Jackson and Brayden Prickett defeated Kyle Brentlinger and Mitch Staggers 6-0, 6-1.
FC will host the WRC singles and doubles tournament on Saturday before beginning sectional play on Wednesday which they also host.
Tigers sweep Mounties for SAC title
Southmont hosted Lebanon on Thursday and fell to the Tigers 5-0. With the win the Tigers claimed the out-right SAC title with a perfect 6-0 record.
Gavin Downey fell at one singles to the Tigers Matthew Barber 6-2, 6-1, Colton Cory was defeated by Owen Bigler 6-1, 6-2, and Caden Allen fell at three singles to Wesley Byrd 6-0, 6-2.
At one doubles Owen McCutchan and Dean McGaughey were bested by Jack Ferrell and Reece Guyman 6-0, 6-2 while Mike Hardin and Alex Garcia fell at two doubles 6-0, 6-1 to Ian and Owen Kincade.
Southmont will now look ahead to the post-season when sectional play begins at Crawfordsville on Tuesday.

Chargers fall to Math & Science
North Montgomery boys soccer hosted Indiana Math and Science on Thursday and fell by a final score of 3-2. The Chargers fall to 0-13 on the season and will be back in action on Monday when they host Tindley.
Volleyball
Chargers fall to strong Red Devils
North Montgomery volleyball hosted the always tough West Lafayette Red Devils on Saturday and were swept 25-17, 25-15, 25-6.
The Chargers fall to 8-12 with the loss and will be back in action on Monday when they travel to take on North Vermillion.
