Tanya Dawson and brother-in-law Donny Dawson work the urban pumpkin patch at the Crawfordsville National Guard Armory Tuesday afternoon. With thousands of pumpkins, gourds, mums and other flowers available for sale, the pair are looking to fill the shoes of Donny's mother Sandra Dawson who had sold pumpkins at the site for more than 20 years. Sandra passed away recently. Her birthday was Oct. 8, and on that day patrons can buy a "Sandy Mum" for their fall decorating needs. Tanya and Donny, along with Tanya's daughter Dallas Dawson, will be at the concrete pumpkin patch seven days a week from 9 a.m. until dark through Oct. 31. Social distancing and masks are requested if visiting the patch.
