God's Good News For Today

A happy face

Posted

Do you realize your face tells what is happening in your life. When your heart is filled with joy, optimism is reflected on your face. Ecclesiastes 8:1 says, “... a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.” This wisdom spoken of comes from believing in Jesus Christ not ourselves. We are talking about a deep Biblical conviction about the person of God, to know that He loves you and has wonderful plans for you.

Your actions and moods are always shown in your face. Someone said, “What’s down in the well comes up in the pail.” What is going on in your shows on your face.

The Association of Psychological Science reported a connection between smiling and the ability to handle stress and pressure in life. They reported that there are two kinds of smiles. Regular smiles that use only the muscles around the mouth. Then there is the really happy smile that uses all the muscles of the face and your eyes. Down south we call it a real grin! Those people who smile in this way suffer less from stress, have a greater level of happiness and a quicker rate of renewal in life.

As we look to the Lord we are helped. David wrote in Psalm 34:5, “They looked unto Him, and were enlightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”

Begin your day looking to the Lord. Spend some time in His Word and praise Him for His goodness to you. Tell Him of your problems and leave them with Him. Then walk through them in His power and strength. Put a smile on your face, grin and shine forth your happy face by faith. Your faith makes you glow.
