Allen Edward Ritchings Jr., 61, of Waveland passed away surrounded by his family on July 22, 2021.
He was born Feb. 2, 1960, in Lakewood, New Jersey, to the late Allen Edward and Grace (Billand) Ritchings. On July 31, 2004, he married Mia “Denise” Ritchings in Beachwood, New Jersey. She survives.
Allen worked for Uchrin Plumbing for several years as well as Team Green Lawn Sprinklers for 10 years until moving to Waveland. He then worked for Metal Forming, and then most recently Raybestos. Allen and his wife Denise also owned and operated Al’s Sub Corral in Waveland.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time on his farm and being with his family. He was a member of Ocean County Bass Anglers Association and Browns Valley Christian Church.
He is survived by wife Denise Ritchings; five children, Mia (Mark) Hector, Tami Wilson, Alice Post (Shawn Hill), Gary (Amy) Post and Jon Ritchings; 21 grandchildren, Devin, Stephen, Kristian, Joseph, Nicollette, Austin, Louis, Shawn, Matthew, Hailey, Stacie, Hayden, Hannah, Heaven, Halena, Harrison, Henry, Holden, Hazel-Grace, Ryland and Layla; six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jayden, Luna, Joseph, Adeline and Iris; brother Cory Ritchings; step-mother Diane Ritchings; two step-sisters, Joanne Schulter and Susan Schulter; and many more extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Friday until the time of service.
