American Legion gives graciously

American Legion Post 72 announced that this year and over the Christmas holiday more than $90,000 has been donated to local service organizations and charities.

“It is our honor and privilege to recognize these worthy organizations that do so much to help our community so generously, and we thank you all for all you do,” said Bruce Vaniderstine.

The following is a list of some, but not all, organizations the Legion has supported and donated to this year: Crawfordsville Police Department and SWAT team; Crawfordsville Fire Department and Shop with a Firefighter; Montgomery County Sheriff; Salvation Army; Sunshine Society; Operation Toy Box; Community Christmas Dinner; Youth Service Bureau; Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County; Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County; Cub Scout Pack 909; Family Crisis Shelter; Trinity Life Ministry; Volunteers for Mental Health in Montgomery County; Strawberry Festival; Friends of Ernie Pyle; Recovery Coalition; Bikes for Kids; Masonic Temple; Montgomery County Free Clinic; and FISH Food Pantry.

“It is our great honor to serve Montgomery County and Crawfordsville, now, and in the future, and we thank you all for your service,” Vaniderstine said.
