Area 4 Special Olympics Holds Qualifying Tournament

Alan Homsher/Journal Review Photos Over the weekend, for the 26th year, Wabash College hosted the Area 4 Special Olympics Qualifying Tournament. There wer 68 teams from 17 counties participating. More than 475 athletes, 32 of those were skilled, traveled from all over the state, the furthest being from Vanderburgh and Porter counties. Volunteers assisting with the games numbered more than 110, 75 of those were affiliated with Wabash College. Participation was up this year over last year. Kenny Melvin and Tori Gregory spearheaded the event.
