Area wrestling teams successful at WeBo Duals

All three Montgomery county wrestling teams were in action on Saturday at the Western Boone Duals which featured all eight teams in the Sagamore Conference. Crawfordsville, North Montgomery and Southmont all saw successful days as all three teams came away with winning records on the day.

Crawfordsville went 3-2 on the day as CHS defeated Danville 57-18, Tri-West 45-30, and Frankfort 56-24. The two losses for the Athenians came against Western Boone in a 58-19 defeat and vs Lebanon in a 56-14 loss.

Individual results on the afternoon for CHS were Taiga Koyangi (106) going 4-1, Camron Teeple (120) 1-4, Kassidy Richmond (126) 0-5, Nasytre Byard (132) 1-1, Reed Gorham (132) 2-1, Landon Vaught (138) 4-1, Jaziel Gil-Herrera (145) 3-2, Ashton Wilson (152) 3-2, Calvin Dittmar (160) 4-1, Braeden Hites (170) 3-2, Josh Dixon-Kiger (182) 1-4, Keegan Cokel (195) 4-1, Uziel Murillo (220) 3-2, and Isaiah McNorton (285) 2-3. Crawfordsville returns to the mat on Thursday when they host Seeger for a dual meet.

North Montgomery had an impressive record of 4-1 on the day as the Chargers defeated Danville 51-24, Franfort 60-24, Lebanon 42-39, and Western Boone 48-36. The lone Charger loss came in a very close dual match against Tri-West 42-39.

Individual results for the Chargers were Eli Moseley going 4-1, Christian Brown 0-5, Connor Koopman 4-1, Nolan Yarger 5-0, Brent Runyon 1-4, Korbyn Pritchett 2-3, Jayden Thompson 3-2, Gage Galloway 5-0, Hudson Claypool 1-4, Mikeal Kincaid 1-4, Todd Laffoon 5-0, Malachi Stevens 4-1, and Dylan Braun 5-0. The North Montgomery girls team will be back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Lebanon Invite while the rest of the team will be back on the mat on Dec. 13 when they host McCutcheon.

Lastly but certainly not least the Southmont Mounties went a perfect 5-0 on the day taking down all five SAC opponents. The Mounties took care of Danville 60-17, Western Boone 40-38, Lebanon 40-33, Tri-West 51-27, and Frankfort 66-18.

Individual results for South were Brier Riggle (106) 4-1, Forfeit at 113, Thomas Woods (120) 1-4, Jeffrey Pine (126) 4-1, Maddox Cade (132) 5-0, Marlin Williams (138) 5-0, Justin Emerson (145) 2-3, Kaden Newgent (152) 3-2, Max Musick (160) 2-3, Micah Kiger (170) 3-2, Heath Chesser (182) 1-4, Wyatt Woodall (195) 5-0, Waylon Gomez (220) 4-1, and Ayden Dickerson (285) 5-0. The Mounties improve to 6-0 on the year with the 5-0 day and will host North Putnam on Tuesday.
