Art League displays work at CDPL

Posted

Visitors to the Crawfordsville District Public Library can expect a visual treat over the coming weeks. On display in the Mary Bishop Gallery are over 60 pieces of original art created by members of the Art League of Montgomery County. This annual exhibit affords members the opportunity to show off their talents and to promote the Art League, a local nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the visual arts.

The Art League of Montgomery County was established in 1896 as a means of learning more about art and to encourage local arts. Membership in the Art League of Montgomery County is open to anyone who wishes to encourage and support the arts in our city.

The show runs until Nov. 30. A variety of art will be exhibited, with many of the works available for sale. The show is not a juried show. Each member chooses the pieces that they feel best represent their style.

The artwork is on display in the gallery during normal library hours, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 765-362-2242.
