The Art League of Montgomery County met at 6 p.m. May 2 for a general all-member meeting at the Crawfordsville Country Club.
Present: Kathy Steele, president, Dorothy Fogel, co-vice president, Linda Weaver, treasurer, and Terri Fyffe, secretary, along with 54 members and guests of the Art League.
Gavel-Call to Order: Kathy Steele called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.
Welcome to members — It is nice to be back together for this special event after three years of planning. It is so nice to see so many of you in attendance. I would also like to welcome our guests this evening, Julie Chamlin, Tom Klein, Beth Herzog, Elle Herzog, Tobey Herzog, Richelle Jefferies and Gerry Turner. We also have some new Art League members with us tonight. These are members who have joined during the year or attended a meeting for a new Art League Group. Welcome Rosie Stutzman, Mary Glass, Janet Zachary, Leslie Warren, Kate Lindsay and New Group members Elizabeth Mantello, Tina Osborn, Tammy Fulwider, and Lexi Klein.
Thank you to our co-chairs, Pat Stull and Dorothy Fogel for making dinner arrangements for this evening and to Peggy Herzog for securing our speaker, her niece, Julie Chamlin. I would also like to thank our chef, Josh Cunningham, and clubhouse manager, Liv Bedwell, for preparing our meal and for personalized planning. Thank you to Department K for the unique table decorations and to Department H for handling name badges and welcoming us this evening. Thanks to Linda Weaver for taking the reservations.
Dinner: Now, please sit back and enjoy wonderful conversations and a delightful dinner, to be followed by our much-anticipated program about the Merchandise Mart and Art on The Mart in Chicago in which Julie Chamlin, our speaker, played a significant role; then a brief meeting.
Speaker: After a good meal, Kathy Steele came back to the podium to ask Peggy Herzog to come up and introduce our speaker for the evening.
