Arthur Franklin “Doc” Pendleton, 77, of New Richmond passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1945, on the family farm near Waynetown, to the late Burton and Freida Conner Pendleton. He married Sandra Jane Hitch in Crawfordsville on Feb. 15, 1970. She preceded him in death Oct. 5, 2017.

Doc was a graduate of Waynetown High School and he enjoyed growing up and working on the family farm near Waynetown. He served two years with the US Army stationed in Colorado during the Vietnam War. 

Doc was employed by Tipmont REMC 1973-2007 as a senior groundman and truck driver. He was proud to have traveled to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina to assist in restoring power. Doc enjoyed his morning visits over coffee and breakfast and lunch with his friends.

Surviving are: daughter Renee (Chad) Neukam of Vevay; son Darren (companion Stefanie Hulen) Pendleton of Fishers; two granddaughters, Kaidlyne and Kourtney Neukam; and sister-in-law Carole Pendleton of rural Crawfordsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sandy; brother John; and sister Grace.

Visitation hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 and funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, with Pastor Jeff Stedge officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are preferred to Montgomery County Animal Welfare League.
