Crawfordsville’s girls basketball team played a solid all-around game in a 45-43 win over Covington on Monday.

After trailing into the second quarter, Crawfordsville went on a 16-2 run to take a lead they never gave up, although the Trojans whittled away at the lead until the end of the game.

“It was a great game by so many players,” Athenians coach Joe Ferguson said. “When we needed a shot, or a stop, or a pass, we had someone do just that. It was really a nice team win.”

Aubrey Lowe was one of the top highlights, as the junior had 10 points, five rebounds and five steals. Celeste Moore was scoring leader with 11 points, while Litzy Huesca added nine points and five rebounds.

The Trojans were led by Peyton Brown’s four treys for 12 points.

Crawfordsville moves to 3-17 with the win, while Covington falls to 4-17.

Both teams finish regular season play this week and head into sectional action next week.
