Barbara June (McManomy) Ramsay, 87, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at St. Vincent Indianapolis.
She was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to the late Gladis and Audrey O. (Starkey) McManomy.
Barbara graduated from Waynetown High School. On Oct. 11, 1958, she married the love of her life, Ted R. Ramsay, at the Waynetown Christian Church. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 2020.
Barbara was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked at JCPenney’s, Town and Country, and Crawfordsville High School cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking and baking birthday cakes for the boys. Barbara and Ted loved camping and boating at the lake and after retirement going to Florida for the winters. They also enjoyed going up north mushroom hunting with friends.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Royce (Susan) Ramsay, Don Ramsay, Jon (Jackie) Ramsay and Rex Ramsay; grandchildren, Alan Ramsay, Jane (Frank) Ramsay, Kinli Ramsay, Kandis (Austin) Swank, Meagan (Adrian) Starnes, Wade Warren, Isaiah Ramsay, Liam Ramsay, Owen Ramsay and Luke (Megan) Covault; great-grandchildren, Wayne Peaslee, Graham Ramsay, Charlotte McCormick, Maverick Swank, Camdon Swank, Charlotte Starnes, Penelope Starnes, Parker Warren, Henry Warren and Navey Covault; and sister Gwen Martin.
A visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road, Waynetown, on Friday, Jan. 17 from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Barbara’s name to the Waynetown Christian Church, P.O. Box 296, Waynetown, IN 47990.
