Barbara Marie Beecher Walden of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2023, with her family by her side. She was 92.
Barbara was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church. She was a homemaker, but also worked several years at the country club. She was a very kind, giving person that never knew a stranger.
Born Aug. 18, 1930, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Herschel Beecher and Bernice Barnhart Beecher. She married Ernest E. Walden Jr. on Oct. 20, 1951. He passed away April 26, 2004.
Surviving family includes: four children, Pamela Sandusky of Crawfordsville, Michael (Elaine) Walden of Arizona, Betty (Milton) Hartman of Crawfordsville and Sandra Robertson of New Hampshire; sister Beverly Caldwell of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Shane Griffin, John Hartman, Amber Griffin, Amy Davis, Michael Walden, Sanyelle Sandusky, Aaron Sandusky, Beth Bennett, Erik Whipkey, Tracie Robertson, Casie Robertson, Jennifer Gardner and Angelina Corden; her best friend, Sandy Myler; 31 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; along with many friends that she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Walden; great-granddaughter Ivy Davis; sisters, Betty Wilson, Margie Lauy and Jean Brumbaugh; and brothers Walter Beecher and Herschel “Sonny” Beecher.
There will be a celebration of the life of Barbara Walden from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Woodland Heights Christian Church, 468 N. Woodland Heights Drive. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
