Barbara Ruth Hargis, 69, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at her son’s home in Crawfordsville.
She was born in Brazil to the late Harold and Barbara (Schnurpel) Gerber.
Barbara graduated from Brazil schools. She married the love of her life, David Hargis, in Mace on March 7, 1981. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2014.
Barbara retired from Hickory Creek, where she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid. She enjoyed walking around Waterford Apartments and watching wildlife, especially the squirrels.
Barbara is survived by her children, Stephen (Stacy) Gerber, Fredrick (Barbara) Gerber and Joann (JD Potter) Hargis; grandchildren, Chad, Halee, Jacey, Blaze, Maxwell, Lilly and Alexis; and great-granddaughter Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, LouAnn Cunningham, Randy Gerber and Harold Gerber.
Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life at a later date. Sanders Funeral Care Crawfordsville is entrusted with care.
