The Indiana High School Athletic Association sectional pairings for baseball and softball were announced on Sunday.
Here’s an early look at the draw.
Baseball
Fountain Central will play in the Class 2A No. 38 Sectional at Delphi.
The Mustangs (9-9) will play Delphi (10-5) in the second semi-final game. Other teams in the sectional include Seeger (10-4), Western Boone (0-12), Lafayette Central Catholic (13-3) and Clinton Prairie (11-3).
Southmont will play in the Class 2A No. 44 Sectional at Southmont.
The Mounties (1-11) will play the winner of South Putnam (3-8) and Parke Heritage (3-3). Cloverdale (1-6) and North Putnam (7-7) play in the other semifinal.
Crawfordsville and North Montgomery will play in the Class 3A No. 25 Sectional at North Montgomery.
The Athenians (10-5) will play Lebanon (10-2) in the opening game. The Tigers beat Crawfordsville 8-0 earlier this season and will meet once more in the regular season. The Chargers (9-4) play South Vermillion (6-5) in the other quarterfinall, while Northview (9-1) and Frankfort (9-6) meet in the second semifinal.
Softball
Fountain Central will play in the Class A No. 53 Sectional at Lafayette Central Catholic.
The Mustangs (4-13) play the host Knights (2-13) in the opening game. The two teams split a doubleheader in the early part of the season.
Other teams include Riverton Parke (4-9), Faith Christian (6-10), Attica (6-5), North Vermillion (4-6), and Covington (7-7). The Mustangs currently have a 2-5 record against the sectional field.
Southmont will play in the Class 2A No. 38 Sectional at Delphi.
The Mounties (9-4) will play Western Boone (9-6) in the opening game. The two teams still have to meet for a Sagamore Conference home and away in the regular season. The winner will play Delphi (9-5) in the semifinal. The other semifinal will feature Seeger (11-2) and Clinton Prairie (9-6).
Crawfordsville and North Montgomery will play in the Class 3A Sectional No. 25 at Lebanon.
The Athenians (0-17) will play the host Tigers (4-13) in the opening game. Lebanon beat Crawfordsville 13-3 in the regular season, and still have one meeting left. The winner will play North Montgomery (0-13-1) in the semifinals. The other semifinal game will feature Frankfort (8-1) and Tri-West (14-2).
