Bessie Mae Bannister Manion, 87, of Waynetown passed away at 7 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2020, in her home.

She was born July 13, 1933, at Crawfordsville, to Elsie S. and Charles E. Bannister.

Ms. Manion retired from RR Donnelley & Sons on Aug. 1, 1995, after 37 years. She began her career May 1, 1958, as a bindery hand worker. In retirement, she enjoyed spending more time with family, as well as drawing, painting, going to auctions and garage sales.

Surviving family includes: daughter Jennifer M. Swaney of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; son Tony W. Manion and partner Nikki of Waynetown; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Elizabeth Manion; brother Leroy Bannister; son Gerald Manion; daughter Beverly J. Brock; and great-grandchild James “Jimmy” Bailey.

She will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Graveside service for family and close friends will be at 1 p.m. Friday, with Paul Morrison officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Guardian Angel Hospice, 513 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46702.
