Betty Sue Smith, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away Monday, March 24, 2025, at her son’s home.
Betty was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Jefferson County, Alabama, to the late Alfred and Georgia (Roberts) Dockins. Betty was a registered nurse at St. Franciscan in Crawfordsville and St. Vincent Heart Center of Indianapolis.
She was a member of Freemont Street Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. She enjoyed winters in Florida, knitting and her church.
Surviving are her two sons, John S. Smith and Wade (wife Teena) Smith, both of Crawfordsville; brother Gary (wife Katherine) Dockins of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Kaila Weston, Courtney Judy, Carissa Pickering and Tanner Smith; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in passing by her parents; brother Eugene “Sonny” Dockins; and five sisters, Nella Dean Pridemore, Evelyn Jones, Edith Bennett, Mary Hunt and Linda Dockins.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.
