B&G club keeping kids busy with fall break camp

Fall break has fallen upon us again and the Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County is a destination for some children to spend the week off from school.

The club is hosting a Fall Break Fun Camp with themed programs each day. Children pre-registered to take part in science, technology, engineering and math activities, a Kid Olympics day, costume party and other events.

“We provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack,” said S.T.E.M. education director Erica Cummins, as children drew pictures in the gym. “A lot of parents find our service appealing because we do take student out on field trips, and we spend our own money for supplies.”

A recent grant helped pay for upgrades to computers and other technology.

The club will continue Halloween celebrations Nov. 1 with a community dinner, bounce houses, games and candy. General admission is $1 and free for children five and under.
