Board approves purchase of new ambulance for CFD

The Crawfordsville fire department will be receiving a  new ambulance to further help serve the community after the request was approved during Wednesday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. The agreement between the city and CFD was for the ambulance to be purchased for the amount of $367, 838 and the ambulance is expected to take about two years to build before it will be ready for use according to Crawfordsville Fire Chief Scott Busenbark.

The ambulance will be paid for out of the cities Major Rescue Fund.

In other business the board:

•Approved a request from Jennifer Collins to place a dumpster at 122 W. Main St. from July 1-8 for masonary work on the building.

• Approved a contract extension for Emergency Medical Service Director Dr. John Roberts M.D.

•Approved work order requests from Code Enforcement Officer Barry Lewis to mow the following properties: 713 S. Washington St, owned by Daniel Kamin, 401 E. Market St. owned by Young Group LLC, and 1100 W. Market St. owned by Mark Sipe.

• Approved an agreement between the city and Mora Concrete Services of Crawfordsville for $10, 850 for concrete replacement at the rear entrance of the building.
