Bomb squad called for suspicious package

Posted

A suspicious package found outside an agricultural lending cooperative Friday was harmless, police said.

An employee discovered the package at Farm Credit Mid-America, 517 Corda Boulevard, when they arrived for work around 8 a.m., said Det. Sgt. Geoff Payne of the Crawfordsville Police Department.

“Due to the nature of the package and not knowing what it was, it was obviously not supposed to be there,” Payne said.

The Tippecanoe County Bomb Squad was called to rule out an explosive device. Payne said he could not describe the package, citing the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Central Communications Center at 765-362-0885 and ask for Payne.

The Crawfordsville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
