Brenda Lou (Sims) Wheeler was born Feb. 6, 1945, at Albion Michigan, where she lived until she married Larry Wheeler on June 22, 1963.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Louise Sims and four brothers, Jim, Ted, Gary and Don.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Larry Wheeler; five children, Gregg of Crawfordsville, Kelly (Tom) Price of Zionsville, Aaron (Renee) of New Castle, Corey (Amy) of Noblesville and Jason (Charlotte Burtt-Wheeler) of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren, Ryan Price, Kaitlyn Price, Colin Price, Paige Debiak (Dan), Blake Wheeler, Brady Wheeler, Cole Wheeler, Lauren Wheeler, Julia Wheeler, Madi Wheeler, Tyler Wheeler, Brittany Parker, Sara Burtt, Marty (Jessica) Burtt and Thomas Burtt: and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Cali.
Brenda was the most supportive, loving and dedicated wife and mother and she absolutely adored all of her grandkids. Having a busy, demanding schedule as a successful Realtor for 28 years until her retirement, she always made plenty of time for her kids and grandkids, enjoyed supporting them in their numerous sports and activities. She especially loved the holidays and hosting her large family gatherings.
After raising her family, she sold advertising part-time for the Messenger Crier weekly newspaper in Crawfordsville. In 1992, she began selling real estate at Landmark Realty. She continued her real estate career until she finally retired in 2020 at Carpenter Realty in Crawfordsville. Later in her real estate career, she teamed up with her husband Larry under the name “Team Wheeler” and they were a successful Realtor team together for many years.
She was a long-time member of Woodland Heights Christian Church in Crawfordsville.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life memorial service to honor Brenda at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 24 at Eastside Baptist Church, 2000 Traction Road, Crawfordsville.
