Wabash College senior guard Vinny Buccilla earned North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after helping the Little Giants earn two victories in conference games.
Buccilla averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week. He scored 15 points in a 74-48 win at arch-rival DePauw on Wednesday evening. Buccilla was a perfect 6 of 6 from the field and made his only three-point attempt of the evening. He also made his only free throw attempt in the contest, gave out three assists, three rebounds, and two steals in the victory.
Saturday Buccilla scored a season-best 22 points to lead Wabash to a 66-57 win at Oberlin to help the Little Giants remain unbeaten in conference play this season. He made 7 of 15 shots from the field (46.7%) and 4 of 7 three-point tries (57.1%). Buccilla led the Little Giants with a season-high eight rebounds. He also recorded three steals and handed out one assist.
