Carnegie Museum celebrates Pi Day

Posted

The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County invites the community to celebrate Pi Day from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

Cool math and physics-themed demonstrations, crafts and activities will be available throughout the Carnegie Museum building courtesy of Wabash College Physics and Math Department professors and students. Guests can also enjoy a piece of pie in the lobby in honor of the day.

Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant represented by the Greek letter Pi, which signifies the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. No matter the size of the circle, the value of Pi is always the same, approximately equal to 3.14159. Pi is infinite, amazing, and part of many mathematical formulas. The Carnegie Museum’s Pi Day Celebration is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages.
