Carnegie plans Nature Day program

Posted

Celebrate the natural world with Nature Day 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County.

Drop in during the event hours to enjoy nature-themed activities inside the building, then enjoy some ice cream outside as a special treat. Feel the inside of a turtle shell, make a recycled paper bookmark with wild flower seeds, learn how our food is grown, what makes for healthy soil, how to grow and arrange flowers and more.

Enter to win one of three copies of Aimee Nezhukumatathil’s World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks and Other Astonishments. One entry per person.

This free, family-friendly event is offered as part of the Indiana Humanities One State/One Story program celebrating the book World of Wonders.

From now through July 31, the Carnegie Museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and other times by appointment. In August, regular hours return to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The building at 222 S. Washington St. is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
