Carolyn Sue (Fraizer) Stockdale, 89, of rural Veedersburg passed away at 11:47 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, with family by her side.

Carolyn was born Nov. 18,1935, in Crawfordsville, the daughter of the late Harold and Jane (Taylor) Fraizer. She married Paul Gene Stockdale on Aug. 16, 1959, at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Carolyn graduated from Hillsboro High School and Indiana State University with a music major and English minor. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority at ISU. Carolyn taught music and English at Hillsboro Elementary and Hillsboro High School and taught music at Perrysville Elementary.

She was a lifelong member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Carolyn was a member of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, Hillsboro Harmony Club and Hillsboro United Methodist Women. She served as Fountain County Choir Director and directed the choir at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Carolyn is survived by husband Gene of 65 years; son Wesley (Sara) Stockdale, Veedersburg; daughter Cara (Bruce) Kiesewetter, Crawfordsville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jake (Kylie) Stockdale, Veedersburg, and Kale Kiesewetter and Will Kiesewetter, Columbus Junction, Iowa; and great-granddaughter Sawyer (Jake and Kylie) Stockdale, Veedersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Sally Kinser (Jim) Florida; and granddaughter Jamie Stockdale.

A gravesite service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, with Chaplain Jim Stephens of the Southern Care Hospice officiating.
