Cassie L. Wittenmyer, 62, of Rockville passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel.
She was the administrator for the Parke County Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals with 26 years of service.
Cassie was born Sept. 25, 1961, at Clinton, Indiana, to the late Jack R. Cooke and Doris Marie “Dokie” Blackwell Cooke. Her husband of 18 years, Stanley Wittenmyer, whom she married Jan. 27, 2001, at Negril, Jamaica passed away April 8, 2019.
Survivors include: brother Tony Cooke of Rockville; sister Cindy (Denis) Bannon of Crawfordsville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a 1979 graduate of Rockville High School and was a lifelong resident of Parke County. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family and sharing her love of outdoor activities including buggy rides, boating and lake time. She took great pride in the upkeep of her property and sharing her home with friends out by the pool or at a fireside. Cassie especially loved animals. She leaves behind her beloved dog Frannie. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with Pastor Robert Barger officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Gooch Funeral Home.
